Learn Spanish in Alicante

Sunny skies, golden sands, and the cool, blue waters of the Mediterranean make every day a true delight in this provincial capital. The year-round warm climate coupled with a strategic location have attracted people here for thousands of years — the Greeks, Phoenicians, Carthaginians, and Romans all left their mark on the city before the Moors began the intensive cultivation of oranges, dates, almonds, and rice that has had a lasting impact on the local cuisine. If you're looking for a genuine Mediterranean cultural experience, a place where you can taste some of the best rice dishes in Spain and lie in the sun, take a dip in the sea, and contemplate the Santa Barbara Castle on the mountaintop after a fun day of learning Spanish, then Alicante is the destination for you. As you study the language, you'll be soaking in the mellow beach vibes, enjoying the vibrant night life, and discovering an entire city full of history, art, and culture.

Travel Through Alicante

Alicante is a city that is easy to love; in fact, it's been voted one of the best cities in Spain to live in. It's small enough to explore on foot, but large enough to support a dynamic cultural scene and a vibrant nightlife. Spend your mornings learning Spanish with classes at don Quijote and your afternoons marveling at historic sites such as the Santa Barbara Castle, perched on a mountain overlooking the city and the sea, savoring fresh seafood on a sunny outdoor terrace, or being inspired by places like the Archaeological Museum of Alicante or the Museum of Contemporary Art. Or, simply meander down the city’s main promenade, Paseo de la Explanada, right along the marina, and swim, surf, or take a boat ride on the Mediterranean Sea. Don't forget, Alicante's most spectacular centuries-old traditions take center-stage during the fiery San Juan festivities in the month of June.
